Maine200 Time Capsule
A collection of items installed on the State Capitol grounds in 2020, built as a public art project and sealed by a group of young people charged with renewing the effort for future generations.
TRICENTENNIAL PINE GROVES
Juvenile White Pine trees provided to participating communities for planting along with a commemorative Maine Bicentennial marker, to anchor new or existing public park areas.
FLYING THE FLAG
Raising awareness of the bicentennial statewide by providing 3’ x 5’ official bicentennial flags for display on all public buildings such as schools and government offices.
Four live concerts, one in each season of 2020, at various venues around the state.

An interactive 360 virtual reality experience of notable places in the State of Maine, populated with historical information, fun facts, and audio-visual clips.
Providing every child in Maine with a library card and the creation and distribution of a “Day by Day Family Literacy Activity Calendar.”

A new exhibit at the Maine State Museum concerning Maine’s path to Statehood, featuring new and existing acquisitions.

An interactive smartphone application explaining Maine history, with augmented reality features and more, in multiple versions for various age groups.
3-D Maine History Stereograph Showings
A traveling public projection show of stereoview images of 19th and early 20th century Maine.
“Present at Statehood” Photography Project
Gathering contemporary color photographs and presenting narratives for 270 Maine properties on the National Register of Historic Places, to be presented via the Maine Historic Preservation website and beyond.
