Castine's Celebration of Maine's Bicentennial
To begin the celebration, a parade of ships ranging from small boats to The Oliver Hazard Perry (ohpri.org) will lead the way up Penobscot bay into Castine on July 12, 2020. On July 13, we will also be celebrating 100 years since women's suffrage, with distinguished guest speakers focused on Women Leading the Way on the Coast of Maine. There will be trolley tours of historic Castine and opportunities to board the sailing vessels. Finally, on July 14, we will celebrate Maine's heritage and unity through our Bastille Day event with speakers, tours and our annual Picnic en Blanc dinner.
