Exhibit Opening: "Bangor 1820: Maine’s Bicentennial—past, present, future"
145 Harlow Street
Bangor, ME 04401
To celebrate Maine’s Bicentennial, the Bangor Public Library is reviving an idea used by the Bangor-Brewer Tuberculosis and Health Association during the last few decades of the 20th century. This organization commissioned an artist to create a work that could be turned into a bookmark.
The “Bangor 1820: Maine’s Bicentennial—past, present, future” exhibit is a call for artists to submit a work on this topic that may be turned into a bookmark and used throughout the Bicentennial year.
A short presentation will take place at 6 PM. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be announced.
There will be light refreshments and entertainment.
This exhibit is funded in part by a grant from the Maine Bicentennial Commission.
