The Maine Bicentennial Commission is sponsoring five major events to celebrate Maine200:
This event, originally planned as an in-person ceremony on Statehood Day 2020, will now be a broadcast production featuring music, poems, official recognition statements and much more. A broadcast date will be announced in the fall of 2021.

The Maine Bicentennial Commission, the City of Portland and the U.S. Coast Guard are bringing this national treasure to the Ocean Gateway. It will sail in on Friday, August 6 and be in port through Monday, August 9.
Public tours of the US Coast Guard Cutter EAGLE are Saturday, Aug. 7 from 11-7 and Sunday, Aug. 8 from 11-3. Each day tours will open early from 10 to 11 for military, veterans, first responders and frontline hospital workers only. Tours are free of charge. Please note: The Coast Guard has advised that there are steep stairs involved with the onboard tours. Parking is available in the city lot next to Ocean Gateway and at several other commercial lots downtown. There is no public parking on the pier.
